Story Description :

Because love is about cherishing, we are willing to set aside rigid principles and smile at our partner’s stubbornness. This is not blind indulgence, but a desire to see the one we love find happiness in even the smallest things. When the love is truly sincere, compromising, understanding, and caring for one another become voluntary joys—a way to harmonize two different worlds and truly belong to each other.

Chapter 1

Since We're Getting Divorced Tomorrow Anyway, Let's Make Tonight Memorable

My husband buried his face against my back and murmured,

“Well, we're getting divorced tomorrow anyway, so we might as well make tonight memorable.”

I burst out laughing.

He laughed too.

We've only been married once, but we've announced our divorce dozens of times.

We've gone through practically every stage of the process—from arguments and shouting matches to actually filling out the divorce papers and signing them.

The only thing we've never done is submit the papers to the court.

Looking back, those moments have become some of our most memorable memories, and in their own strange way, they've added a little color to our marriage.

When we were dating, I'd threaten to break up with him at the slightest disagreement.

After we got married, I upgraded the threat.

Now I threatened to divorce him.

To be completely honest, nobody actually wants to get married only to turn around and eagerly get divorced—especially a woman.

But somehow, the word divorce always seemed to sit right at the tip of my tongue.

We could argue for barely a few sentences before I'd inevitably blurt it out.

The first time I threatened to divorce him, my husband was completely horrified.

His face had been flushed red with anger during our argument, but the moment he heard those words, all the color drained from it.

He stopped arguing and stared at me.

Then he angrily demanded to know how I could say something like that so casually.

Did I even love him?

Did I have any respect for our marriage?

How could I say I wanted a divorce so easily?

Inside, I was secretly thrilled.

But on the outside, I put on my most haughty expression and pretended not to care.

Only an idiot would actually get divorced, I told myself.

The second time, I stormed into another argument and once again demanded a divorce.

This time, my husband didn't get angry.

He simply looked at me coldly and said,

“I'll give you some time to think about it. When you've calmed down, we'll talk again.”

That made me even angrier.

I stormed upstairs, locked myself in the bedroom, and refused to cook dinner.

Later that night, I got so hungry that I finally crept downstairs.

To my surprise, my husband had already made me a bowl of rice porridge and left it on the table.

I looked around.

He wasn't anywhere in sight.

So I sat down and wolfed it down like a starving cat.

Suddenly, my husband's voice came from behind me, making me jump.

“Do you even know what you're eating?”

I didn't turn around.

I wanted to make peace with him, but I was too embarrassed to admit it, so I put on an aloof expression and answered curtly,

“No.”
