Chapter 2
Seeing the astonishment on Daniel's face, Felix burst out laughing.
“It's nothing. I guess my frequency matches its better tAlice yours. It's the same with everything. As long as you find the right frequency, you'll always be able to reach each other.”
“How do you know?”
The question slipped out of Daniel's mouth.
Felix ruffled his hair.
“You just have to remember this: if no one gets hurt, then that's the frequency you need.”
As soon as they brought the kitten home, Felix immediately put a collar around its neck, complete with a name tag he had designed beforeAliced.
The kitten clearly disliked it and struggled desperately to pull it off. After writhing around for a while, it eventually exhausted itself and curled up obediently, letting out soft little grunts as Felix gently rubbed its belly.
The pale, warm autumn sunlight filtered through the window that afternoon, filling the small room with a quiet sense of peace.
Felix looked at the kitten tenderly, an uncontrollable affection briefly passing through his eyes.
“Look. Don't you think this kitten looks a lot like Alice?”
He suddenly asked.
Daniel watched the golden strands of fur on the kitten's face tremble slightly. Remembering the first time he had met Alice, he nodded in agreement.
Suddenly, Felix scooped the kitten up, pressed his forehead against its tiny forehead, and rubbed against it affectionately.
The kitten let out an irritated little “meow.”
Felix spoke in a very soft voice, sounding slightly embarrassed and foolishly shy.
“Let me tell you a secret, okay? Actually, I've liked that little girl for a very, very long time.”
Once, after finishing a long-term project, Felix and Daniel decided to have hot pot together.
Alice came along, bringing another female friend with her. The girl had clear yet melancholy eyes, with a tiny beauty mark beneath the corner of one eye.
The four of them gathered together. Daniel and Alice's friend prepared the ingredients, while Alice and Felix, despite having no idea how to cook, eagerly joined in.
As a result, the food was ruined before it even had a cAlicece to be properly cooked. In the end, Daniel had no choice but to throw everything into the pot and turn it into a mixed vegetable and meat soup.
Even so, seeing the satisfied expression on Alice's face still made him incredibly happy.
After they finished eating, Alice suggested playing cards.
The four of them split into two teams. They played a bluffing card game, with the losing team having to kneel as punishment.
Daniel and Alice's team kept winning round after round. It was not until Felix complained that his legs had gone numb and he could not take it anymore that Alice finally agreed to stop.
As they gathered up the cards, her friend suddenly laughed teasingly.
“Daniel looks so gentle, but he's surprisingly good at this game. Next time, I want to team up with you.”
Daniel looked into her eyes for a moment before quietly turning away.
After they joked around for a while, Alice suddenly noticed the guitar Aliceging in the corner of the room.
Following her gaze, Felix burst into laughter and proudly patted Daniel on the shoulder.
“You don't know this, little one, but this kid isn't just good at drawing. He's also really good at playing the guitar.”
“Really? Play something for me.”
She looked at Daniel excitedly, her eyes filled with anticipation.
Unable to refuse her, he nodded and took the guitar down.
“What would you like to hear?”
“Anything is fine.”
She answered, looking extremely excited.
For a brief moment, Daniel felt that the clear, radiant eyes that always seemed so full of life held nothing but his reflection.
It was such a fleeting moment, yet the happiness he felt was so unmistakably clear.
I'll remember you
At the end of the trail,
